UH crowns Ms. Statue of Four Lies 2011

The University of Houston recently crowned Ms. Shawnique Gonzalez-Johnson as the coveted Ms. Statue of Four Lies. In a campus-wide contest sponsored by the Honors College, more than 4 contestants competed for the heralded distinction.   Ms. Gonzalez-Johnson will represent The Statue of Four Lies until 2012.   Said Ms. Johnson-Gonzalez when she learned about the award, "I'm so honored.   And it's even a bigger honor because the contest was sponsored by the Honors College."
A native of Beaverton, Texas, Ms. Gonzalez-Johnson is a sophmore pursuing her degree in Topographical Management in the School of Engineering.

"The Statue of Four Lies" is unveiled to the world!

On Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 12:00 noon, "The Statue of Four Lies" was unveiled to the world before an enthralled crowd at the University of Houston. The unveiling ceremony featured songs by Stu Mulligan, music by Hank Schyma , magic by Okashunal "OK" Sadubius BrownKlown, remarks by Richard Armstrong (Associate Professor of Classical Studies and Fellow in the Honors College, University of Houston and contributor to KUHF’s “Engines of Our Ingenuity”) and remarks by Dr. Renu Khator (Chancellor/President, University of Houston). Included in the celebrations were the UH Cheerleaders, aerial advertising and pony rides! Presiding over the whole affair was Dr. Mike Guidry, Minister of Culture of the Council of Aesthetics, University of Houston who played the role of Master of Ceremonies.
